Meet Skyler

Skyler is a lifelong resident of Long Island. Skyler graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University. As a Long Island native, he knows the struggles New Yorker’s face.

Skyler currently sits on the board of Temple Beth Emeth of Mount Sinai. In addition, Skyler serves on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Action Fund. In this role, Skyler fights to protect reproductive rights, access to birth control, and uplifts life-saving information about critical care. Skyler co-chairs Planned Parenthood HPAF’s Equal Rights Amendment working group, where he is fighting to finally codify equal protections for all into New York’s constitution. Skyler is also the chair of the Suffolk County Young Democrats.

Previously, Skyler worked as the Director of Development, Communications, and Advocacy for a non-profit organization which advocates for women, children and families through the providing of direct services and resources. Today, Skyler works for the organization Zero Overdose, which works to combat the opioid crisis through the creation of overdose prevention plans. Skyler also consults for various non-profits throughout New York, where he has addressed issues such as the cost of living for seniors, healthcare, reproductive rights, criminal justice, and public safety. As an advocate, Skyler travelled to Albany to advocate for legislation such as Fair Access to Victim’s Compensation, which creates avenues for victims of crime to access critical state funding.

Skyler served as a political aide for Mayor Jesse Warren of Southampton. With unprecedented environmental and financial challenges facing Southampton Village, Skyler successfully acted as a liaison between Mayor Warren and the people of Southampton Village - addressing their concerns and advising the mayor on impactful ideas to improve quality of life.

In 2022, Skyler was the Democratic nominee for New York State Senate District 1. In the face of Long Island’s red wave, Skyler earned over 57k votes.

Now, Skyler is running for the State Assembly, in Assembly District 4. He cannot stand idly by while hundreds of thousands of people go without housing, the cost of living skyrockets, and so many of his neighbors are without clean water. Skyler is ready and willing to represent each and every one of his constituents and improve the quality of life in New York.
